The journey of Seaweed Etcetera started with a residency program named Song Of The Wind that was curated by Sunyoung OH. The residency was held in Wando Island, South Korea. The Residency happened two times and started with Gatari Surya Kusuma. She stayed for two months and decided to work in the kelp farming. Then, the second visit was done by Eri Rama Putra, Elizabeth Kamaratri, and Ario Fazrien. The second visit was made in two weeks for the documentation purposes.

This residency became a pivotal role to establishing and triggering the research initiative related to Seaweed in the context of Indonesia. Gatari wrote a note about her experience of working with the kelp farmers. Presence in Wando island triggered a bigger question on where the seaweed is missing from our dining table?
